The Center of Attention...

The very best (and for some the WORST) part of being photographed, is you are THE center of attention.  The lighting is metered just for you, the focus is on you, and most of all, our eyes are directly on you!  Maybe you've never been the center of attention, not to worry, Leigh always has a knack of  comforting our clients and they always tell us how enjoyable and natural everything felt.  In lieu of the clients being the center of attention, here are some photos with absolutely NO people in them!  Take yourself out of the "it's a flower" mindset and enjoy the shapes, colors, and textures!

Newborn: Baby Logan

I had the privilege of photographing the most beautiful baby last weekend! He was so sweet and of course smelled so good like only a newborn can! :) He was just 9 days old and slept like an angel for me most of the time. I love photographing babies and especially newborns because like puppies they are so amazing to have for a couple hours but it's great to be able to give them back. LoL! We're not quite ready for #2 yet so this helps me get my baby fix for a while! :)

This little guy LOVED to be cuddled and held just like this with his momma! I was afraid at first he wasn't gonna give up the body contact so we could get some pictures but he ended up being perfect!

His daddy is a firefighter as you can see from his shirt and the series of pictures I got with them together are some of my very favorite.  It makes most women melt I think to see a man with his child. David looked so natural with his little guy! :)

Thank you Sarah and David for inviting me into your home and sharing your amazing little baby with me!

Orlando City v UCF

Another great soccer game!  Leigh photographed a beautiful baby boy on Saturday and I figured what better to photograph than the Beautiful Game itself....the REAL FOOTBALL!  A windy but otherwise perfect Spring day, Orlando City finds itself on the pitch against my alma mater, UCF.

Orlando City opened up the scoring (top photo of this group) to which UCF cut it to a 1-1 tie before half. It was to be City's day however!

You never know what your going to get with a friendly...bench players, soft challenges...but none of that today!  The players put it all out on the pitch and City went down to ten men after a hard knock from behind.

Both teams had chances on goal, and even with only ten men, City put 5 home, but it was their goalkeeper that made sure that their 4 goal lead would not be lost with some great saves.

Thank you boys for a great match!  Leigh's newborn baby session should be up early this week, check back then!

Personal Photo........ Thursday :)

Ok so I know it's supposed to be personal photo Mondays but with the way things went this week it didn't happen! At any rate I had a chance to go through my photo archives from the past few months and found a ton of photos I hadn't even edited yet! I love this one of Mark and Atticus watching the horses that live down the street from us. While I would LOVE to say that we live out in the country somewhere and this horse lives on a beautiful little farm just down the dirt road we take our daily walks on.........it's just simply not true. There just happens to be a horse stable and a big pasture on the very busy road we live on. Oh well, we are happy to have them close and one day soon when we have land of our own I can share pictures of our donkey and goats with you!! :)

Tico Warbird Airshow 2011

As portrait photographers, many of our blog posts are about cute kids, lovely families, and romantic couples....however...this one is for all those who breathe jet fuel and don't wear earplugs...

Every year I look forward to the local airshow that takes place at Tico airport in Titusville, FL.  I grew up going to the airshow with my Grandfather who was a SNJ-5 (T-6 Texan) technician in the Navy.  This year was a celebration of the 100 year anniversary of naval aviation as well as a celebration of the P-40 "Flying Tigers".

I got a really good spot this year and caught some of the valiant pilots.  Many of them are retired military and for that I honor them!

My brother actually swore into the Navy this past weekend so I took the middle photo for him, im proud of all of my brothers!  Micah and Monty are both enlisted in the Air Force and are both avionic system techs for different aircraft!

As the B-2 Spirit flew by I realized why America is STILL Kicking ass and taking names since 1776!

This is the only privately owned Jet team called "Heavy Metal Jet Team."  I would definitely say that they will be giving the Thunderbirds and Blue Angles a run for their money.  One of the pilots was actually a Thunderbird at one time!  They put on an awesome show!

3 B-25's....amazing!

What can't be said about the F-15 Strike Eagle...truly art in motion!

The heritage flight is always my favorite.  It helps you put into perspective where we've come from and where we are going in air warfare.  From the roaring V12 Rolls Royce engine of the P-51, the chugging along A-10, and the roaring F-15, it gives me goosebumps.

Rachel and Joey: Wedding

We had the honor of photographing Rachel and Joey's big day a few weeks ago!! Mark and I know Rachel from high school and I was so excited when she contacted us! We had such a great time when we met up with them at Stetson for their engagement session, I knew their wedding day would be equally as great!! Getting to know her and Joey as a couple was truly inspiring! They are both so passionate about one another and so totally in love. <3 We found out at their engagement session that Joey's been trying to marry Rachel since the day they met. :) So Cute!!

The flowergirl and the ringbearer were SO cute! Apparently they became fast friends at the rehearsal earlier that morning and when they met up again just before the wedding they were both really excited! I heard the ringbearer telling her how beautiful she looked in her dress and how happy he was to see her!! That little boy has game! :)

Congratulations you guys!!

We had a weird cold snap today after a few weeks of beach weather and it got me longing for December again! :) I thought i'd pull this photo out from the winter archives when my boy got a new beanie and his first pair of mittens! Happy Monday!!

Just Madison

I've known Madison for a couple years now. Her Mom and I became friends when we worked together a few years back. We parted ways a little over a year ago and I was so excited to see them again when we got together for Madison's session! Madison is the cutest, smartest, spunkiest little girl I know! :) Her little voice makes me melt when she says, "Excuse me, Mrs. Leigh?" I never know what's going to come after that because she always has the funniest things to say and ask!! I hope I have a daughter one day just like her!! :)

We went and tromped around in the "wheat" as she called it for a bit and just enjoyed the beautiful light! That brown hat is a favorite of mine. I still haven't worked up the courage to wear it out in public yet but I did see one just like it in red on an episode of Glee a few weeks ago, so that was encouraging!! Hats are SO back people! :)

I wish I was a little girl again so I can wear bright colored tights and a purple flower in my hair!!! So much more stylish than the tie-dye shirts and scrunchies I rocked..........Not to mention bike shorts......yeesh!

Madison you are a doll! Thank you for such a fun session! You are a natural and such a beautiful girl inside and out!! xoxox
